We’ve all heard it before, practice makes perfect. While perfection is a nice concept, the real goal of dance practice is improvement, exercise and hanging out with friends. VBDS offers four practices to do just that.

Les Passmore / Saanich Silver Threads
Tuesdays, 7-9 pm
Les Passmore / Saanich Silver Threads (members & non-members)
The first hour is a drop in line dance practice, free for members and only $5 for non-members. The second hour is a Beginners practice and focuses on the six dances taught to Newcomers: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive. Click here for a detailed guide to our line dance steps.
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm
Les Passmore / Saanich Silver Threads (members only)
The first 30 minutes is set aside for a line dance practice, the remaining 90 minutes is a regular practice suitable for all skill levels and covers all ten ballroom dances: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive and also includes West Coast Swing.
Saturdays, noon-2:00 pm
Les Passmore / Saanich Silver Threads (members only)
This is a regular practice suitable for all skill levels and covers all ten ballroom dances: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive and also includes West Coast Swing. Periodically the first hour may be pre-empted by a Workshop – check our calendar for up-to-date information.
Sundays, 11:30 am-1:00 pm
Les Passmore / Saanich Silver Threads (members only)
This practice is for experienced dancers at the Silver or higher level. The music format is different than the other practices, the 30 minutes are dedicated to the Latin dances and the second hour, the Standard dances. The music sequence is four or five of the same genre are played before moving onto the next giving ample time to focus on figures. West Coast Swing is not played at these practices.
