Classes & Workshops – Fall Schedule 2024

Classes and workshops for November and December have been posted to our calendar and are open for registration. Workshops are open to both regular members and those with free, non-member accounts. Regular (paid) membership is required to register for classes.

Level 2 Newcomer Part 2

VBDS will host Level 2 Newcomer Part 2 classes with Wanda on Thursday evenings from November 14th to December 19th. This is a six-week series and will cover Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive. More info / registration class here.

Level 3 Intermediate Part 2

VBDS will host a five-week series of Level 3 Intermediate classes with Victor starting Monday, November 25^th. These 90-minute classes will cover figures in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, and Jive; Quickstep and Samba will also be introduced. For more info and to register, click here.

Intermediate with Wanda – Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha & Rumba – CANCELLED

We asked, you spoke and the majority of the respondents wanted Wanda to teach an Intermediate class. The most popular dances were Rumba followed by Waltz, Tango and Cha Cha. In this seven-week, 90-minute series of classes, Wanda will cover the syllabus for all four dances and may even have time enough time for an hors d’oeuvre of the next session. Bronze Standard and Latin Part 2

On Thursday evenings VBDS will host Part 2 of our Bronze classes with Victor. This seven-week series of 90-minute classes will run from 6:30-8:00 PM starting November 7^th in the Dance Studio at Centennial United Church. The class is a split with approximately 45 minutes devoted to Standard: Waltz, Viennese Waltz & Quickstep and 45 minutes for Latin: Rumba, & Jive. For more info and to register, click here.

Technique for Standard and Latin – CANCELLED

Technique classes with Victor continue on Friday nights from 6:30 – 8:00 PM starting November 8^th. Victor will use figures from various Standard and Latin dances to emphasize proper technique, good posture, musicality and couple position. This class is geared towards those seeking to refine their dancing or for competition preparation. To ensure lots of individual attention, enrollment is limited to twelve students. American Style Viennese Waltz with John

We’ve asked John to teach a thee-session series of Viennese Waltz workshops in the American Style. These will run Saturdays, November 9^th, 16^th and 23^rd from noon to 1:00 PM at Les Passmore. American Style Viennese Waltz is fun, a little slower than International and has many wonderful figures. For more info and to register click here.

Latin workshops with Gaétan

Gaétan returns for more high level instruction this time in Latin. These workshops will run on Sundays, November 3^rd, 17^th and 24^th from 10:00 – 11:30 at Les Passmore.
