What: Newcomer 1 – Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive

Welcome to the world of dance! VBDS classes strive to be comfortable and inviting making it easy to step onto the dance floor and have fun while learning something new. In this first six-week series of one hour classes, Wanda will cover the Beginner Level steps (syllabus figures) in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive. By the end of the session students will have been introduced to the basic movement, footwork and music for each dance, as well as partnering – learning to move together. There is also the opportunity to practice what you’ve learned at the practice session immediately following the class.

Please note, you DO NOT need a partner to register for classes or workshops. As needed, we will attempt to balance classes with volunteers. Although not required, students will be encouraged to change partners as dancing with different people is very beneficial to learning.
