Musicality Workshops with Gaetan Rouette

Price: $95 for VBDS members, $120 for non-members

VBDS is pleased to be able to offer a three-week series of workshops with one of Canada’s top coaches, Gaetan Rouette. Gaetan was ten-dance champion in Quebec and is an adjudicator with Canada DanceSport. Our first, three-week workshop series will focus on Musicality. Gaetan will cover the information and exercises to achieve more musicality in the standard dances. Each dance has its own basic timing and rhythm in which you can create better musicality by using proper phrasing, accentuations, and nuances. The dances covered will be Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep.

Please note, you DO NOT need a partner to register for classes or workshops. As needed, we will attempt to balance classes with volunteers. As well, while not required, students will be encouraged to change partners as this really enhances the learning experience.

Registration will close one-week before the start of classes and if there are inadequate numbers, the class will be cancelled.
