Foundation and Style in Tango

This workshop series is dedicated to the different characteristics of the Tango. Through explanations, demonstrations and exercises using the syllabus figures.

Workshop Series Topics:

• Posture, Hold and Couple Positions.. Learn how to apply the hold and positions used to create a better characterisation of the Tango.

• Listening/Technical Details of Tango. Learn the Tango Actions which are different from the actions used in the other Standard Dances. The Tango Walk, The Distinction of the Footwork, Direction and Alignment.

• Sudden Movements. Learn the different types of movements with and without pressure in traveling and non-traveling lines.

Please note, you DO NOT need a partner to register for classes or workshops. As needed, we will attempt to balance classes with volunteers. As well, while not required, students will be encouraged to change partners as this is very beneficial to learning.

Registration will close one-week before the start of classes and if there are inadequate numbers, the class will be cancelled.
