Over the course of four Monday evenings, Victor will review the six dances taught in the previous Newcomer series. In Standard Victor will focus on the Natural and Reverse Turns, Rock Turns and Pivots and the difference in Rise & Fall in Waltz, Tango and Foxtrot. In Latin the focus will be Stop & Go variations, Cross Basics variations, Pressed Walks and Delayed Hip in Rumba, Cha Cha and Jive.
Please note, you DO NOT need a partner to register for classes or workshops. As needed, we will attempt to balance classes with volunteers. As well, while not required, students will be encouraged to change partners as this really enhances the learning experience.
Registration will close one-week before the start of classes and if there are inadequate numbers, the class will be cancelled. Your early registration will help determine the viability of this class/workshop. If you want to pay later, pull down the “PayPal” field and change it to “Pay offline”, the reserve your spot.
It is mandatory that ALL students attend practice… that’s a joke. Nothing is “mandatory” but we strongly encourage students to utilize the practice sessions included in your membership (also available to non-members while enrolled). Developing a new skill takes time and repetition, there’s no other way around it. Regularly practicing will improve your skills and confidence, make learning more enjoyable and provide an opportunity to form new friendships. Our Friday evening practices (more info here) are tailored for newcomers. Come join us on your new dancing journey!
