Standard Technique Workshops with Gaetan Rouette!

We are pleased to announce that Gaetan will be offering a Standard Technique three-week
workshop series starting on Sunday, September 21st! While we encourage signing up for the
entire series, we have opened up registration to allow for taking individual workshops as well.

TIME: Sundays, 10:00-11:30 a.m.
DATES: September 21st , October 5th , October 19th

The focus for this three-week workshop series will be “Figures Turning to Left”, covering the
principles and body actions used in reverse figures. Gaetan will address this specific principle in
a different dance each week, using figures from the WDSF syllabus, as well as warm-up exercise
that are particular to that dance. Learn how to improve the execution of left turns while keeping
connection, frame and balance intact between partners.

Workshop 1 – Slow Waltz (September 21 st ):

• Waltz-related warm-up exercises
• Figures: Double Reverse Spin; Fallaway Reverse and Slip Pivot; Left Whisk to Contra Check

Workshop #2 – Tango (October 5th):

• Tango-related warm-up exercises
• Figures: Quick Reverse Turn; Five Step; Oversway; Throwaway Oversway

Workshop #3 – Foxtrot (October 19th):

• Foxtrot-related warm-up exercises
• Figures: Reverse Turn and Feather Finish; Reverse Wave; Bounce Fallaway with Weave Ending
